What Workshops Do You Offer for Teachers?
Here are some of the teacher training workshops on offer from NLP4Teachers:
Adapt your presentation skills to fit each students preferred mode for learning and understanding.
Body language to convey certainty.
Using language to motivate or demotivate
We also run workshops that work in parallel to events in the academic calendar and trainings to create attitudinal change or to help boost moral during difficult episodes of school life, such as after a demanding Ofsted inspection.
When Do the Workshops Take Place?
Our Teachers workshops usually take place on an inset day or after school hours if they are being organised by the school. Occasionally we offer teachers workshops to teachers outside of their school (so there are a mix of teachers from different schools attending). These take place during the school holiday or at the weekend.
Where Do You Run the Workshops?
Typically schools organise a teachers workshop for their team and the workshop will take place on the schools premises. Occasionally we host our own teachers workshops which take place locally to the practitioner who has organised it.
Who Facilitates the Workshop?
Our NLP4Teachers practitioners are not necessarily trained teachers and we find that this always works in our favour. Our practitioners can truly offer an alternative and fresh perspective on conventional, or in some cases exhausted mythologies and mindsets. In short if you are looking for bog-standard teacher training, we’re not for you – sorry!
We believe that a good teacher educates his pupils but a great teacher works to recognise and realise potential, to inspire and gain rapport. Only then can real teaching begin. These belief underpin our training and coaching with teachers and our aim is to help you and the teachers you work with become great teachers too.
What Are the Skills/Experience of The Practitioner?
In addition, our practitioners will be DBS (police checked), have paediatric first aid and safeguarding training. They have public liability insurance and have completed a health questionnaire, an application process, interview and provided two references before we licence them to provide NLP4Teachers workshops.
How Long Are the Workshops?
Typically our workshops are between 60 minutes and 6 hours. It depends on what agreement is make with the school we are working with – for example whether you want teachers to attend after school for a series of weeks or on an inset day.
How Many Workshops Should I Attend?
We tend to provide workshops in a series rather than as a one off. If you’re able able to attend every session this will maximise your learning and will help to embed important techniques so that you can make use of them long into the future. We also provide workbooks/worksheets so that you will have a reference for the content that was covered.
Should Executive Principles/Senior Leadership/Management teams/Assistant Principles/Pastoral Care Staff/Teaching and Learning Staff Attend the workshop?
We like to work from the top down as we find that this has the best ripple effect in creating a more thorough change throughout the fabric of a school. The best results are always achieved through a combination of both group training and 1:1 coaching.
I Am Not a Teacher But Fulfil a Teaching Role With Children/Young People-Can I Attend?
Yes. We often work with organisations who are not “traditional” teachers, but who are working with young people, such as youth workers and charity workers.
What Age Children Do Your Teaching Workshops Address?
We offer teacher training workshops to both primary and secondary teachers and also to those in alternative education facilities like PRUs.
How Many Delegates Will Attend the Workshop?
We like to limit the number of delegates to 24 as any more than that makes it less easy to facilitate pair work/group activities in a time effective way. We can work with larger groups, but there will be reduced levels of interaction and it is likely to become a presentation rather than a workshop.
How Can I Find Out If There Are Any Workshops Coming Up?
You can contact us on 0203 6677294 if you would like to organise a workshop to take place in your school.
Upcoming workshops that have been organised by a practitioner will be listed on the calendar which you can find here:
