Hypnotherapy for children can be extremely effective at helping them overcome challenges such as anxiety, phobias, poor sleep and many other problems.

The costing depends on the skills and experience of the practitioner and to some extent the location of the practice. Typically session costs start at £65 per session and reach up to £200 for our most senior practitioners.
Can I Pay For These Sessions Using My Insurance?
Possibly though it’s rare for an insurance company to cover the cost of alternative therapies in a non regulated industry. It’s always worth asking them though.
When Do the Sessions Take Place?

In addition, our practitioners will be DBS (police checked), have paediatric first aid and safeguarding training. They have public liability insurance and have completed a health questionnaire, an application process, interview and provided two references before we licence them to provide NLP4Kids one to one sessions.

How Many Sessions do Children Attend?
Hypnotherapy can work very quickly. However the speed and effectiveness varies from one child to the next. Once your practitioner has met your child and conducted a consultation they will be able to give you a more accurate idea about how many sessions might be needed and how effective they treatment is likely to be.Typically we see children somewhere between 2 and 5 sessions.
Are There And Dangers in Using Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy for ChildrenHypnotherapy for children is safe for them because it is a relaxed state that they already utilise when learning, watching television or doing something creative. When our practitioners use hypnosis with children or teenagers under 16 years, they will always ask for your written permission to do so beforehand and will fully explain how hypnosis works and why they think it would be useful for your child.
Some children will be able to experience a deep, eyes closed relaxing trance. Others will be more suited to an awakened trance in which the practitioner might use metaphors or stories with hidden suggestions for change and improvement that their unconscious will understand whilst their conscious mind is entertained by the story. Sometimes an awakened trance can be created whilst doing games, colouring or other activities. Our Hypnotherapists are trained to notice the subtle shifts in your child’s levels of awareness so that they can begin to implant suggestions for change or improvement as soon as they see that an awakened trance is achieved.
Your child will never be out of control, switch off or in a coma type state. There conscious mind will always be there in the background so that if anything is said which is out of alignment, or if for instance the fire alarm went off, they would be fully aware of it and wake up. The only real side effect is that your child may fall asleep! They will then wake up when they are ready to or can be gently woken by a familiar face.
Do You Offer Session for Older Children and Parents?
Will I Be in the Session With My Child?
Not usually. We tend to find that children concentrate better and are more open and honest when their parent/guardian is out of the way. (Sorry!)
How Do I Chose the Right Practitioner?
Finding the right practitioner is of the upmost importance. If you do not feel the right bond and connection with the practitioner, the session will be ineffective. As such we always recommend you give us a call for a chat about you and your child’s needs. We have spent a considerable amount of time with our team and have a good idea about their personalities and skill set.
Our aim is to “match you up” with the practitioner that would be best suited to helping your child overcome their challenges and sometimes the right practitioner isn’t the one who is geographically closest to you.
Not all of the practitioners you see on our website are qualified to use hypnosis so please check with us if you are not sure. You can contact us on 0203 6677294 or email info@NLP4Kids.org
Do The Practitioners Ever Conduct Sessions Via Skype?
We do offer one to one sessions via Skype though it is not a preferred method of working and is not recommended for sessions of hypnosis.
What is the Minimum Age For One to One Sessions?
Typically we work with children aged over 7 years though some practitioners do have experience in working with younger children and may be able to offer sessions. Typically hypnotherapy works best with children that have developed concentration skills and those over 11 years tend to be better recipients.
