Our Resilient Family: Parents & Professionals

A covert and effective way to develop a resilient family and classroom is to use every good example from history (and there are many of them!).

We do not have to look back too many generations to find great examples of resilience and creativity in problem-solving and these stories can help to remind children and young people that they too can overcome these challenges.

Whether you believe that internal strength can be inherited, modelled or developed environmentally (or a combination of all of these things), making those stories part of a young person’s history allows them to develop resilience by proxy, even if they have very little themselves.
