Five Clients, No Fuss – Unless You Do This One Thing Wrong
When you’re launching a business that supports children’s mental health, you want everything to be perfect. You want to get it right – quickly. But sometimes, in the rush to succeed, new practitioners panic. And when they do, they stop trusting the process.
This is a story about what happens when they do.
Why We Start You With Five Consultations – And Why That Matters
At NLP4Kids, we don’t just hand you a badge and say “off you go.” We actively book your first five client consultations for you. It’s our way of jumpstarting your coaching franchise before you’ve even finished setting up your website or social media presence.
Why five? Because it’s a solid starting point. On average, three of those five clients will convert into ongoing sessions, and each will typically attend between 5 and 10 appointments – usually around eight. That means your first month isn’t just hopeful – it’s profitable.
But recently, we had a new practitioner (name withheld to preserve confidentiality) who struggled to trust the process. Despite everything we had put in place, they were determined to make changes to the advertising strategy before the first leads had even properly landed.
🧠 “Every change you make now doesn’t just affect today – it affects your pipeline six weeks from now.”
Why Reinventing the Wheel Doesn’t Work
We made the requested changes, even though the original plan had been built from years of tested results. The outcome? Time wasted. Budget wasted. Stress levels through the roof.
Then came the next issue. Too many consultations. We’d under-promised and over-delivered – and suddenly, the practitioner panicked again. “Turn the ads off!” he said. And so we did.
Six weeks later – silence. The very success he had feared was now the void he couldn’t fill. But by then, I was ill. Not a bit under the weather – flat-out, nearly-hospitalised with a chest infection that had me breathless in bed. I’d asked Marie to check in.
Cue a message: “He’s crying. We need you on the call.”
So there I was, in my dressing gown, head pounding, lungs struggling, talking this practitioner through the reality he had created. The problem wasn’t the system. The problem was that we’d switched off the very thing that was bringing his business to life.
“It’s not that the system doesn’t work – it’s that it can’t work if you interrupt it.”
A Coaching Franchise Isn’t Magic – It’s a Partnership
In the end, we turned the ads back on. The clients started coming again. The panic passed. But it didn’t need to be that hard. We know how to launch a successful NLP4Kids practice – because we’ve done it dozens of times. We’ve walked this path. We’ve made the mistakes already, so you don’t have to.
A coaching franchise isn’t a shortcut to success – it’s a system that supports consistent success if you use it properly. The structure we offer doesn’t just protect your time – it protects your momentum. But it needs you to meet it halfway.
So here’s your reminder: the actions you take now shape what your business looks like in six weeks, six months, six years. If you’re in a coaching franchise like ours, that means following the framework. Trust the process. Let us help.
And please – don’t make us crawl out of our sick beds to rescue you from a problem you created 💀
