This Ain’t a Netflix Subscription – It’s a Business

A few days ago, I was speaking with a prospective NLP4Kids licensee. We were chatting through the nuts and bolts of the opportunity, and she asked: “What are the get-out clauses if it doesn’t work out?”

I replied without skipping a beat: “Well, this ain’t a Netflix subscription.”

She burst out laughing – but it’s true. And while my answer may have been light-hearted, it raised an important point that not enough people talk about when it comes to running a children’s coaching franchise.

This Isn’t a Membership – It’s a Business

Let’s get one thing crystal clear. We’re not offering a month-to-month hobby. This isn’t something you try for a little while, dip out of when life gets busy, and casually rejoin when the mood strikes.

We are building legitimate, sustainable, ethical businesses. Ones that support children, young people and families through some of their most vulnerable moments. So it really matters that the people delivering that support are consistent, reliable, and emotionally invested in their work.

“We’re not just accountable to you – we’re accountable to the public you’ll be helping.”

That’s why we have contracts. That’s why there’s a fixed term. And that’s why, if someone needs or wants to leave early, there are proper, professional steps to take – like selling your practice or buying out your remaining contract term.

Because whether you’re working with anxious teens or overwhelmed parents, there is one thing they should never feel from their practitioner: that they don’t want to be there. And as the director, I will not risk clients being exposed to that kind of energy.

Why This Commitment Matters More Than You Might Think

We’re not gatekeeping your freedom – we’re preserving your reputation.

Every practitioner who joins us makes a commitment. Not just to us, but to themselves. And when you honour that commitment, something shifts. You stop thinking like an employee. You stop dabbling. You become the owner of something meaningful.

When people treat this coaching franchise like a side hustle or a part-time experiment, things fall apart fast. Not because the work doesn’t matter, but because they never gave it the respect it deserves.

That’s why we make our terms clear up front. We want you to come in with eyes wide open, knowing exactly what’s expected of you – and what you can expect from us in return.

So Is This Coaching Franchise Right for You?

If you’re after flexibility, we offer it in your hours – not your integrity.

If you’re looking for something casual, this probably isn’t for you. And that’s okay. But if you want to build a business that helps children grow, supports families, and makes a genuine difference in your community – we will back you all the way.

We provide the tools, the strategies, the advertising, and the safety net. What we ask in return is that you treat this as seriously as we do – because it is serious. Not in a stiff, soulless way, but in the way that says “This matters. And I’m in.”

We’re Looking for People Who Are All In

If you’re weighing up whether this path is right for you, let this email be your gut check. We’re not a club. We’re not a trend. We are a coaching franchise that exists to serve real lives, real families, and real futures.

If that excites you, challenges you, and fills your chest with a little flutter of “maybe this is my thing” – then we’d love to speak with you.

But if you’re still in subscription mode, no hard feelings – come back when you’re ready to go all in.
