Hi, I’m Ami! I offer face to face and online sessions to both children and teenagers in Swindon, Wiltshire and via Zoom, helping to overcome various challenges, such as, anxiety, low-confidence, fears and phobias and communication barriers.

Prior to working as a licensed NLP4KIDS practitioner I have worked in many childcare settings, from owning and running a children’s day care to working within hospitals as a play specialist and supporting looked after children within a fostering agency. During these roles I have brought up my son as a single parent and completed degrees in Play Specialism and Integrated Working with Children and Families.

As someone who has experienced NLP myself, I can see the positive difference it can make in providing the tools and techniques needed to be the best version of yourself! I want to help support your child and your family to overcome the issues that are being faced.

With life throwing us unpredictable twist and turns and the challenges of the recent pandemic, children are becoming increasingly more anxious and developing mental health, emotional and behavioural challenges. During my sessions I will spend time building rapport and getting to further understand your child’s needs. I will provide highly effective tools and techniques needed to overcome negative behaviours and help take back the control that may have been lost.

Book your FREE, no obligation consultation where we can explore how I can help and if I’m the right person for you and your child.

How Does Our Therapy Help Children and Young People?

We use a combination of safe and effective therapies with children and teenagers that help them learn how to control their thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Our practitioners are specialists in working with children using a form of therapy called NLP. This stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. "Neuro" relates to the brain and "linguistic" refers to language and how it is used inside the mind and out of the mouth! "Programming" describes the patterns and habits created, learnt and followed. Using NLP techniques and strategies, (which we have adapted to be fun, safe and easy for children and teenagers to use) we give young people the skills to think in new ways so that they feel in control and learn to understand the world from the perspective of others as well as their own. NLP is a cognitive form of therapy, with some parallels to CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy.) Our work is effective in helping children overcome bad habits, behaviour problems, fears and self esteem problems as well as many other challenges. (See the list below for more suggestions about the types of problems we can help with.)

In addition, our practitioners may have qualifications in other specialist therapies, such as EFT/TFT (tapping techniques), Coaching, Counselling and Hypnotherapy for children.

Hypnosis is perfectly safe for children because it is a relaxed state that they already utilise when learning, watching television or doing something creative. Some children will be able to experience a deep, eyes closed relaxing trance. Young children are usually more suited to an awakened trance. This is induced when playing games, colouring or whilst other activities that our Hypnotherapy4Kids practitioners have been trained to use. Our Hypnotherapists will notice the subtle shifts in your childs levels of awareness so that they can begin to implant suggestions for change or improvement as soon as they see that an awakened trance is achieved.

The first step in helping your child is to contact a practitioner who is local to you. You can call them on the number above or complete the contact box below if you would like the practitioner to contact you. They will conduct a consultation with you, either over the phone or in person. Once they have understood the challenges your child is facing, they will invite you and your child to meet with them. If you decide to go ahead with some therapy or coaching sessions for your child, the therapist will advise you of the best course of action. Your therapist will give you feedback and advise to help you support your child and you will remain in full control of the number of sessions you book and how often. [Read Less]

  1. “My daughter has been struggling with separation anxiety since the beginning of this year. With Ami’s care and support, she has gone from not being able to walk into school, to staying away from home at friends’ houses, going to school happily and going for play dates. Her confidence has grown and, more importantly, she has gained an understanding of her worries and emotions with the help of Ami and her personalised techniques. Ami has also given our daughter a safe space to talk, which has been of huge support. I will definitely be recommending Ami. Thank you Ami 🙏”

  2. “Ami has given amazing support to my son who suffered from anxiety centred around school. She spent time building up a rapport and teaching him strategies to use to overcome his difficulties. She has a lovely caring nature and really took time to show understanding towards his struggles. Highly recommended for others facing similar issues.”

  3. “I took my daughter to Ami because she was suffering with anxiety and finding it difficult to deal with change.
With her start at secondary school approaching I honestly didn’t know how she would be able to cope.
After a small number of sessions with Ami the change in my child is utterly amazing.
Ami is fantastically bright and so much fun she really connects with you and your child. I can’t rate her highly enough”
