I have twenty-five years of experience as a primary school teacher helping children and teenagers to grow into eager, confident, curious, resilient, independent, reflective, creative, responsible and respectful individuals and I am here to help you too. I offer 1-1 consultations for children, teenagers and adults (either in person or online) NLP4Parents workshops, and NLP4Kids group workshops. I work within schools providing individual therapy, group workshops and NLP4Teachers training.
Life can present challenging events at times and these can affect us all differently sometimes resulting in anxiety, depression and negative thoughts and behaviours. But, the good news is that we are not alone. NLP4Kids and for NLP4Parents is a great place to shake up these unhelpful thoughts and behaviours either from the past or present and to navigate future challenges in a more helpful and positive way.
I know from first-hand experience how positive guidance and steering for how we think, feel behave and communicate can make a real difference to our own lives and those around us. How we think about ourselves, our own thoughts and feelings have a big impact on how we behave and communicate. Sometimes those thoughts and feelings are super helpful and other times they might stop us from functioning in a healthy way. This is where, if we want to change, NLP can help.
I love working with and seeing children, teenagers and families flourish. I have taught all year groups from Reception to Year 6. I have first-hand experience of working with children at different developmental stages and have worked alongside many children and families to build confidence and help them take the next positive in managing feelings, behaviours and relationships. I have been a member of the school senior management as Deputy Headteacher, KS1 lead, KS2 lead and Eary Years lead. I have led the development and learning of both children’s personal and social behaviour within schools that I have worked in.
I currently work part-time as a safeguarding officer and a personal tutor. My volunteer work has been in a Church context as a children’s worker, youth worker and pastoral group leader. In all of these areas of work, I have travelled alongside people of all ages and listened with care to worries and concerns and worked together on positive solutions.
As a Mum of two, I know how it is so very important for our children to have strategies, tools and techniques to help through challenging times, feelings and thoughts. School anxiety, exam stress, social anxiety, relationship problems? These are all areas I specialise in. I work closely with children with various barriers to learning, Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, global development delay and their families.
I enjoy walking, swimming, singing, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

How Does Our Therapy Help Children and Young People?
We use a combination of safe and effective therapies with children and teenagers that help them learn how to control their thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Our practitioners are specialists in working with children using a form of therapy called NLP. This stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. "Neuro" relates to the brain and "linguistic" refers to language and how it is used inside the mind and out of the mouth! "Programming" describes the patterns and habits created, learnt and followed. Using NLP techniques and strategies, (which we have adapted to be fun, safe and easy for children and teenagers to use) we give young people the skills to think in new ways so that they feel in control [Read More]
We use a combination of safe and effective therapies with children and teenagers that help them learn how to control their thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Using NLP techniques and strategies, (which we have adapted to be fun, safe and easy for children and teenagers to use) we give young people the skills to think in new ways so that they feel in control and learn to understand the world from the perspective of others as well as their own. NLP is a cognitive form of therapy, with some parallels to CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy.) Our work is effective in helping children overcome bad habits, behaviour problems, fears and self esteem problems as well as many other challenges. (See the list below for more suggestions about the types of problems we can help with.)
In addition, our practitioners may have qualifications in other specialist therapies, such as EFT/TFT (tapping techniques), Coaching, Counselling and Hypnotherapy for children.
Hypnosis is perfectly safe for children because it is a relaxed state that they already utilise when learning, watching television or doing something creative. Some children will be able to experience a deep, eyes closed relaxing trance. Young children are usually more suited to an awakened trance. This is induced when playing games, colouring or whilst other activities that our Hypnotherapy4Kids practitioners have been trained to use. Our Hypnotherapists will notice the subtle shifts in your child’s levels of awareness so that they can begin to implant suggestions for change or improvement as soon as they see that an awakened trance is achieved.
The first step in helping your child is to contact a practitioner who is local to you. You can call them on the number above or complete the contact box below if you would like the practitioner to contact you. They will conduct a consultation with you, either over the phone or in person. Once they have understood the challenges your child is facing, they will invite you and your child to meet with them. If you decide to go ahead with some therapy or coaching sessions for your child, the therapist will advise you of the best course of action. Your therapist will give you feedback and advise to help you support your child and you will remain in full control of the number of sessions you book and how often. [Read Less]
